Magical Realism
The magical Realism is how because of Aureliano Segundo and Petra's love caused an abundance in their livestock. It's possible for love to produce good things, but its magical how it produced wealth for them in fertile animals.
Character
Jose Arcadio Segundo goes through the most changes in this chapter. At first he goes down a religious path, but then he decides to go find interest in cockfights and having sex with donkeys. He's not sure of what path he wants to pursue in life, because in the end he has again changed up and went into engineering and navigation.
Summary
Colonel Buendia is still all corrupted and messed up from the last chapter, so he goes into solitude again making little gold fish. Aureliano Segundo, Arcadio's son, soon goes into the lab of the late Malquiades due to curiosity and mystery, while his brother Jose Arcadio Segundo takes more of a religious roll in life. But that eventually becomes contradictory and he is deeply engaged in chicken fights and bestiality with donkeys. The two brothers end up being with the same woman in the long run, Petra, but she doesn't know the difference between the two or that they are different people. Soon she doesn't have to worry about choosing because Jose Arcadio segundo leaves her because she gives hm a social disease. So she ends being with Aureliano Segundo. They have a strong love for each otherm and Aureliano Segundo soon becomes a wealthy man due to his livestock. Because of the excitement of their wealth, he throws a get together for the town to rejoice with them. For his twin brother, Jose Arcadio Segundo, he follows in Jose Arcadio Buendia's footsteps as far as exploring and he focuses on engineering and navigation. He becomes successful with his task and ends up bringing prostitutes to the town of Moncondo who start a carnival. Along with the prostitutes is Remedios the Queen and she is considered the most beautiful woman in town, but she is still very naive. An enemy named Fernanda del Carpio arrives with strange man who goes on a riot destroying things and killing people.

These two quotes were significant to the turning point for Jose Arcadio Segundo from a religious life to beastiality
Theme
Success- No matter what the drama is in this chapter, in the end, the main characters have some kind of satisfaction like Aureliano and his livestock, and Jose Arcadio with his boat.
